                                    Picture

Raynham Stables is dedicated to developing safe, well-rounded riders.  We offer lessons for riders of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced show riders.  Our dedicated instructors and talented, well-trained school horses can help you meet your riding goals.

Riders begin with a solid foundation on the flat, learning how to walk, trot and canter and basic school figures.  Once the instructor feels they are ready, riders have the option to add jumping lessons.  For those who jump, lessons alternate between dressage and jumping.

                                    Riding School Policies

                                    Lesson Time
Students need to arrive 30 minutes before each lesson to catch their horse, groom and tack up.  Students should be in the ring, mounted and ready to ride, by the scheduled start of their lesson.  After the lesson, students will require 30 minutes to untack, groom and clean equipment.  Overall, it will take approximately 2 hours for a group riding lesson.

                                    Rider Turnout
We suggest you put your name on all your riding equipment.  All riders must have the following gear:
                                    • Correctly fitted ASTM helmet
                                    • Boots with a 1/2" - 1" heel
                                    • Long pants for riding (we suggest breeches or snug fitting track pants as loose pants and jeans can rub)
                                    • Gloves
                                    • Crop
We recommend riders wear paddock boots with half chaps or tall boots to prevents rubs.  Rubber riding boots are not ideal as they do not bend well in the ankle.  Long hair must be tied back.

                                    Make-up Lesson Policy

Students may have one make-up lesson per 8-week session.  To receive a make-up, you must cancel by 3:00pm (weeknight lesson) or 9:00am (weekend lesson).  You must book a make-up class by the end of the session or it will expire.  Under no circumstances will a make-up lesson be given for a missed make-up.  If you provide a minimum of one week's notice, we will consider it rescheduling instead of a make-up lesson.

                                    Payment

All lessons must be paid for in advance.  If you would like to take advantage of the discounted rate offered by purchasing a lesson package, payment must be received prior to the start of the session.  If payment has not been received by the second lesson of the session, you can no longer purchase the lesson package and will be charged the per lesson rate for all the lessons that session.  If payment still has not been received by the third lesson, you will not be assigned a horse and you may lose your spot in the lesson.

Lessons can be paid for by cash or cheque made payable to “Raynham Stables”.
