Fall Lesson Registration and Update!
Fall lesson registration is now available online.
There are exciting new changes to our lesson program as well. Details
available under the Riding Lessons link.
Havana's baby has arrived! She was born on Canada Day. Lindsay and Caryn were
away in the US at a show. Nikki went to feed the barns in the morning and
there she was! Just standing up and still damp was Havana's beautiful
filly! She is a chestnut with a star and snip and we think she may go
grey. Pictures to be posted soon!
The
arena is finally up and almost complete! It is a beautiful, bright
Coverall and is 72' x 170'. All that is left is to finish off the doors.
This means that we will have DOUBLE the time slots available for our fall
session. The barn portion, 30' x 72' will be completed in the fall.
It will include 10 grooming stalls and a new tack room just for the riding
school!
We
have some very sad news as well. While in the US for an event, Lindsay's
new horse, Balista suffered a serious bout of colic. He had to be rushed
to Cornell University for emergency surgery. He seemed to be recovering
well although still some issues. Five days after the initial surgery he
went in for a second surgery to make sure everything was healing well.
Unfortunately, there were too many serious complications from the initial
surgery and he had to be put down. We are all devastated. Although
we only had Balista for a short time he made his way into our hearts.
He was the top horse in North America eventing in 2003, competed in the 2003 Pan
Am Games and the 2004 Olympics with Canadian Mike Winter. He was the top
placed Canadian horse at both events. He was a very special horse and we
hope he remains in everyone's memory.
On a
happier note, camp is well underway and is going great! For the sessions already
completed, thanks so much for being AWESOME campers!

What's New!
Well I haven't updates the news section in quite a while! Many exciting
things are going on at Raynham Stables. Construction is underway on the
new indoor arena. The total structure will be 72' x 204' and will be
connected to the end of the long aisle in the big barn by a 30' x30' building.
The arena will be a Coverall and will have a 30' section at one end partitioned
off. This area will contain grooming stalls (no more tacking up in the
aisle!) and a tack room exclusively for the riding school. There will a
new parking lot with 24 spaces running alongside the new arena.
Also underway is the tearing down and replacement of all the fencing.
This will be an ongoing project throughout the summer and will (hopefully!) be
totally done by August.
Camp will be starting in less than a month. New and exciting additions
to the camp program include a 18' x 33' above ground pool. We will also
have a new camp building with a lunch/arts and crafts room and a camp store!
Camp apparel, souvenirs, riding supplies as well as refreshments will be
available!

Winter
Break Camp
Eleven
campers came to spend the second week of their winter break here at
Raynham Stables. We had a terrific time, riding twice a day,
creating our own board games and creating a fabulous horseback show
"Spectacular, Spectacular!" The show featured synchronized
jumping, a musical ride and vaulting, quite a feat to pull of in one
week! Congratulations to all that participated - you were
terrific!

Thank-you!
All of us here at Raynham Stables would like to thank everyone for such
a terrific year. We have grown a lot of the past two years and we
hope that we will just continue to get better as expand! In 2007 we plan
to give the farm a makeover including adding NEW indoor arena to
increase our lesson capacity, new fencing, redoing the driveway, a new
parking lot and more! We'll keep you posted.
