OHTA Awards

Boy do our Raynham riders clean up well! It is always very nice to see each other out of our "barn grubbies"! Hayley Cairns, Whitney Curran, Margaret Hyslop, Karen Homburg, Jennifer Ritchie and Lindsay's family all came out to the OHTA Dinner and Award Banquet.  We were proud to cheer on Lindsay as he received the award 3rd highest points in the Open Preliminary division with Not Your Average Joe.  They also took home, for the second year running, the Thoroughbred Breed Award for their division.  Wow, what a great year for our terrific coach!

Success in Kentucky!

Everyone had a terrific time in Kentucky.  Despite less than perfect weather conditions that turned some of the cross country fences info water jumps, we all had great rides.  Lindsay and Not Your Average Joe finished 5th in the CCI*! He was also very successful with Raven, finishing 5th individually helping his team place 3rd! Our novice team, lovingly called the "Raynham Loonies" finished 21st out of over 40 teams that started.  Individually:

Hayley Cairns riding Patch - 15th

Whitney Curran riding Jynx - 10th

Emily Robertson riding Beau - 10th

Nicole Maclellan riding Emmy - 4th

Congratulations to our Kentucky team! I have created an online photo album of everyone's pictures from Palmer Photos.  Click on the links to see the photos from XpressFoto of our Novice team on x-country and stadium.  Here are pictures of Lindsay and Joey riding dressage, x-country and stadium.  Raven and Lindsay in his polar bear costume for his "Polar Bear Express" team are here.  Just don't call him a bunny!.

Wow, was it ever a busy summer! Summer camp was terrific, we had a ton of fun and so did all the campers.  We hope to see many of your smiling faces back again next year. Our show season is starting to wrap up.  We were at the Ontario Championships this weekend and the following riders competed:

- Hayley Cairns riding Patch a.k.a "Luck of the Irish" in Entry

- Margaret Hyslop riding Raven a.k.a "Nevermore" in Training

- Emily Robertson riding Beau a.k.a "Atticus Finch" in Pre-Training

- Karen Whylie riding her horse Maddie a.k.a "Paris Match" in Pre-Training

Lindsay and Nikki were competing as well on their horses Joey, "Not Your Average Joe" and Emmy, "High Society".  The weather was horrible, nearly every time we were on our horses it was raining and cold but everyone still had a good time.  Lindsay and Joey were the stars of the weekend, winning their division! He is the Ontario Open Preliminary Champion and we are all very excited for him.  There is a picture of them on cross country posted below.  If you see any of the riders around the barn, be sure to congratulate them for making it to the championships! I would also like to say an extra thank-you to Whitney Curran who came out to help us all get ready on Saturday, she was an amazing help.

Fall lessons have started up again.  If you have not registered yet, please do so as soon as possible as there are very few spaces left.  If you need conformation of your lesson time, feel free to call (905) 859-0057.

It's A Girl!

Lucy had her foal shortly after 9:00am today! It is an adorable chestnut filly with a white blaze and two white socks.  She was on her feet less than an hour after her birth and is nursing happily.  Lucy was a pro, she made having a baby look easy!  We are going to try to keep things nice and quiet for the first few days so please do not disturb them!  If you would like a quick peak, come as Lindsay, Caryn or Nikki to take you into the small barn. We haven't decided on a name yet but are leaning toward something tying in the fact that she was born on Victoria Day!

Up on her feet!

We had the Mother's Day Brunch last weekend and it was a hit! When we were playing games on horseback the mom's were much crazier than their kids.  We hope everyone participating has as much fun as we did! For anyone that missed out we are planning to run another brunch & ride next year.

Also, Spring Raynham Gear is here! Check out the link on the website to find out what's new! Get your orders in A.S.A.P.!

There is lots of news since the last message.  The schooling show on March 5th was a success.  Everyone rode well and the honour of the only fall of the day went Maya Agrawal.  She got back on and ended up reserve champion of her division.

We also had March Madness March Break Camp last week.  We had tons of fun learning how to ride backward, doing our own hair and our horses in crazy styles and made cool hats on wacky hat day.  The gorgeous new jumps were done during camp as well.  They wouldn't look nearly as fabulous if it weren't for Sandra Willert, thank-you for all your help!

Also, Lindsay got into the Albert Voorne clinic being held at the Royal Canadian Riding Academy. Albert Voorne won an silver individual medal in show jumping for the Netherlands at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.  The clinic will run April 21st - 23rd, times to be arranged.  Spectator tickets are available at a discount if purchase in bulk in advanced.  If we get groups of six, the tickets are $20.  Individual tickets are $25 in advanced and $35 at the door.  If anyone is interested in attending, please let us know as soon as possible. This would be a good opportunity to get some tips for those showing this summer!

Feb. 17th, 2006

As per many requests, our next schooling show has been changed to March 5th.  Hopefully this will conflict less with everyone's March Break plans. We have now posted a class list and online entry form.  If you are unsure of what division to enter, please email us at info@raynhamstables.com and Lindsay or Nikki will give you their suggestion. Hope to see you all there!

Feb. 9th, 2006

Finally, our new website is up! All of the links are not working perfectly yet, but I hope to have all the kinks worked out by the end of the week.  Please let us know what you think of the site and any suggestions for what we are missing.
